Newsletter for the week of November 12th

Memory work:
You are my God, and I will praise you;
you are my God, and I will exalt you.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love endures forever. Psalm 118: 28, 29

Dear Parents,
            Tis the season of Thanksgiving!  We have so many things to be thankful for, including our country and the freedom to worship our God. Thank you for sharing your children with us!  They are such a special gift from God.
Remember that if you have a shoebox donation for Operation Christmas Child, it is to be turned in on Wednesday.  The instructions were sent home last week. We are hoping to fill the altar area with more than one hundred boxes of gifts.
This Sunday we will be celebrating CCLS Sunday at the Lutheran Church of Webster Gardens.  CCLS will be celebrated at both the 8:00 and 10:45 services.  I hope that many of you will be able to join us on Sunday.
We have two field trips scheduled after the Thanksgiving break.  On Wednesday, November 28th, the second graders will be traveling to Global Foods Market at 12:30, to learn about the variety of foods they have from many countries. The students will be encouraged to look for food from their country.  They should bring along some money to shop. $3.00 is usually enough to buy a little something.  We do need parent helpers for this trip.  Parents are welcome to join us for the bus ride or to meet us at Global Foods at 12:45. We will be there for about an hour.  Please let me know if you can join us.
On Monday, December 3rd, we will be traveling to Laclede Groves Home in the afternoon to sing some Christmas carols.  We will leave around 1:30 and be back by 2:45. The home tends to be very warm.  I would suggest that the students wear a cooler uniform shirt so that they are comfortable while they sing.
            The children are off all of next week for the Thanksgiving break.  The teachers will be attending the LCMS Missouri District Educators’ Conference at the Lake of the Ozarks on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
            I hope that each of you has a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.  Thanks to God for all of the blessings that he has given to us.
Thanks for reading.
Yours in Him,
Janet Leet
