The tenth commandment:  You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.

November 5, 2018

Dear Parents,
The weeks of November are flying by.  We have this week and next week and then we are off for the entire week of Thanksgiving.
In math this week, we have moved on to the addition facts of 12.  We are working on counting money (specifically nickels), making and reading graphs, and ordering two-digit numbers.
Last week we studied about Martin Luther and the Reformation. Now we will study some more Old Testament stories before we move on to the Christmas story.
In Social Studies we will talk about our early American history including the First Thanksgiving. Thank you for sending in your child’s country requests for the country projects.  I have assembled the schedule and attached it to instructions for the project. This will be sent home in your child’s take-home folder. I will send home the poster board this week as well.  Even though these are not due until after Thanksgiving, it is always good to get a head start.  Have fun working on this project together.
The November book orders are coming home today.  Please have any orders completed by November 16th.  You may order online or you may complete the paper order and send it in to me.  If you would like any books held for gifts, just let me know.
Remember that if you have a shoebox donation for Operation Christmas Child, it is to be turned in next Wednesday, November 14th.  A brochure will come home this week. We are hoping to fill the altar area with many boxes on the 14th.  The middle school leadership team has challenged the students to collect 300 boxes.  We can do it!
Sunday, November 18th, is CCLS Sunday at The Lutheran Church of Webster Gardens. CCLS Sunday will be celebrated at both the 8:15 and 10:45 services.  You are invited to join us for either service.  If you are searching for a church home, you are encouraged to visit Webster on the 18th to see if this is a good fit for you and your family.
Thanks for reading. Blessings on your week.

Yours in Him,
Janet Leet
