Dear Parents,
Happy Reformation! Happy Halloween!  I would like to thank everyone for taking the time to come to school for your conference. The students did a great job of leading their conferences.  I hope that you enjoyed this experience as much as we did.  We loved watching the students as they took ownership for their learning. It was a pleasure to meet with each one of you.  If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. Klug or me at any time.
Thank you also for your participation in our annual book fair. It was a very successful event.  We have some new books for our classroom and for our school library thanks to your generosity.
This week we will spend a week talking about rules and laws in social studies.  Then we will spend the time before Thanksgiving working on our Now and Then social studies unit.
In math, we are continuing to work on our addition facts.  We will continue to work with counting dimes and pennies.  If your child has not returned the container with 10 nickels and 6 quarters and returned it to school, please do so this week.  We will return the money to you at the end of the school year.
It is time to put together the Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes.  The brochure with information about the boxes will come home soon. If you are choosing to participate, please have your child bring in his/her donation on Wednesday, November 14th.
Coming home today with your child is a note about selecting the country that your child would like to study and present a report about in December.  Please return this selection sheet on or before Friday, November 2nd. Next week I will share the list of countries and the report dates with you. We will begin the reports the week of December 3rd.
Looking ahead, remember that the CCLS Advent worship service will be held in the Concordia Center on Monday evening, December 17th.  This is always an awesome service to be a part of as we prepare for our Savior’s birth.
Enjoy this beautiful fall weather week.

Yours in Christ,
Janet Leet
