Dear Parents,
Happy fall!  It is so nice to have the cooler temperatures!  Please be sure to have your child’s sweaters and sweatshirts labeled with their name (last name is fine) so that we can match up owners with garments!
Tomorrow we will head to Powell Hall to hear the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.  This is a morning field trip and we will be back by lunchtime. Thanks to the adults who are going with us.
This Wednesday afternoon, the teachers will be meeting to schedule the parent-teacher-student conferences.  Please be sure that you returned the conference request sheet tomorrow if you have not already sent it in, or send me an email with your preferences.  A paper copy of your child’s report card will be coming home on Friday.  Inside the report card envelope will be a note with your conference time listed on it. There will be lots of first quarter work that will come home as well.
In math, we are moving on to the facts that equal 10.  This week we will work more with counting money (dimes and pennies) and do some line measuring.  Keep practicing those addition facts at home.
Remember to send back the coins for math.  I will keep them locked in my cabinet when we are not using them and I will return them to the students at the end of the year.
Our annual Book Fair will be held next week.  Our class will “shop” on Tuesday.  A flyer will be coming home listing some of the books that will be for sale.  If you would like for your child to purchase any books, you may send in cash or a check (payable) to CCLS. If you choose to send in a blank check, be sure to let us know a limit for the check.  Tuesday evening, the 23rd, is the Candy Corn Festival (for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students) from 6-7:30 and the book fair will be open at that time. Wednesday morning, the 24th, is breakfast with a buddy and the Book Fair will be open that morning beginning at 7:30 a.m.
This Friday afternoon is our Harvest Party!  Thanks to all of you who are putting together activities and snacks for this fun day!  The party begins at 2:00 and everyone is invited to join us.
Blessings on your week.  Enjoy this beautiful fall weather.

Yours in Christ,
Janet Leet
